Guildrun patch 0.5.13: co-op mode in playtest, a new hero for the spooky season, 17,000 demo players a day

The weekly demo update of 13 October 2026 is short: Leyline playtested the co-op mode of the full game and added another new hero in keeping with the spooky season, while the demo gets five fixes, four of them suggested by players. The note also says that more than 17,000 people still play the demo every day.

On 13 October 2026 (17:14 CEST) Leyline published patch 0.5.13 of the Guildrun demo, the weekly update. Short notes, like those of the past few weeks: a few lines on the full game, five fixes for the demo and one number that says how alive the demo still is, three months after release. The last balance patch is in our article on patch 0.5.9; names stay in English, as in the game.

The full game: co-op and a new hero

The note says that in the past week Leyline playtested and worked on the co-op mode of the full version, and that another new hero, in keeping with the spooky season, arrived in the city. No name, no image. The studio is also working on a visual improvement pass for the final release.

What we knew already: the official FAQ on the Steam forum (12 August) says the full game will have a 2-player co-op mode and no PvP; the note of patch 0.5.10 (22 September) reported the first studio-internal playtest of the mode; the one of patch 0.5.12 (6 October) spoke of concept and production work on a brand-new hero and of another step toward opening a beta branch.

Demo fixes

Besides better performance for status-effect builds, five fixes, four of them suggested by the community (⭐ in the notes):

  • ⭐ Dominion Mandate, the relic that increases team size by 1 after 5,000 debuffs applied, now also counts the debuffs applied by relics.
  • A UI navigation issue could skip the meta-progression panel and leave rewards ungranted: fixed.
  • ⭐ Logan's Execution: the description now matches the damage dealt in the game.
  • ⭐ Ming's The Tempered now grants other Vanguards 50%, 80% and 110% Max HP at ranks B, A and S (instead of 50%, 75% and 100%), as intended.
  • ⭐ Combining a percentage Max HP bonus with a flat one could make a character start a battle without full HP: fixed.

17,000 players a day

The note ends with a thank-you and a number: "still more than 17.000 of you play the Guildrun demo each day". It is Leyline's own figure, three months after the 16 July release; on 23 July the studio had counted more than 200,000 players in the first week (see our article on the wishlists). What the demo includes is in our guide to the demo.

What we don't know yet

  • The name and class of the new hero, and whether it will come to the demo or only to the full game.
  • When the beta branch opens: the note does not say.

Update of 20 October 2026: the next patch, 0.5.14, is the last regular one for the demo and announces a closed beta "coming soon": see our article on patch 0.5.14.
