Guildrun FAQ
The questions we hear most often about Guildrun, with short answers and the link to the page that explains more.
- What is Guildrun?
- A PvE roguelike autobattler by Leyline, an indie studio from Munich. You draft a guild of heroes, rank them from C to S, stack relics and items into a build and seal rifts across 8 difficulties and an Endless mode, with no timer, no queue and no PvP (Steam page). The demo has 25 heroes, 180 specializations, 300+ relics and 100+ items.Guides →Glossary →
- Is the Guildrun demo free, and where do I get it?
- Yes. Guildrun Demo has been a free download on Steam since 16 July 2026; the full game has its own Steam page with the release date ‘To be announced’. The demo stays online, Leyline says in its official FAQ.Calendar →
- Which platforms is Guildrun on?
- Windows and macOS, on Steam. For Linux, the official FAQ says ‘plans for Linux support are not yet determined’. No console has been announced.
- What are the minimum requirements for the demo?
- Windows: Windows 10, Intel i5-4460 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200, 8 GB of RAM, GTX 960 or RX 470, 15 GB of space (a hard disk is fine). macOS: macOS 13 Ventura or newer, Apple M1, 16 GB of RAM, 18 GB of space. Both for the ‘Low’ preset at Full HD, as the Steam page listed them on 23 October 2026.
- Is Guildrun in Italian?
- No. The Steam page lists English (the only language with full audio), German, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Spanish (Spain); the official FAQ says more languages are planned. That is why our glossary keeps the game’s English names next to an explanation in Italian and Spanish.Glossary in three languages →
- When does the full game come out?
- There is no date: Steam says ‘To be announced’. Leyline wrote ‘releasing on Steam in late 2026’ in the reveal press release of 16 July 2026, then ‘in 2027’ and ‘the first half of 2027’ in the press release of 20 July 2026, and the official FAQ says ‘We are aiming to release Guildrun in 2027’. We treat the later statement as the current one and will update the calendar when there is a day.Calendar →News →
- How much will Guildrun cost?
- Not decided. The official FAQ says Guildrun will be a premium game sold on Steam as a one-time purchase, and that Leyline has ‘not landed on a price yet’. The demo is free.
- How do I join the closed beta?
- You can’t yet. On 20 October 2026, with patch 0.5.14, Leyline wrote that ‘a closed beta is coming soon’ and that details will follow in an announcement, inviting players to wishlist and follow Guildrun on Steam and to join its Discord. The official FAQ speaks of a beta branch on the Steam demo with frequent updates. No date and no sign-up have been published.Calendar →
- Is there co-op or multiplayer?
- Not in the demo. A 2-player co-op mode is in development for the full game: Leyline held its first studio-internal playtest in September 2026 (patch 0.5.10) and kept working on it in October (patch 0.5.13). PvP is not planned: ‘Guildrun is focussed on a pure PvE experience’, says the official FAQ.
- Does Guildrun run on Steam Deck?
- Steam has not rated it: on 23 October 2026 both the demo and the game showed no Steam Deck compatibility rating (status ‘unknown’). The official FAQ says the demo ‘is already playable on Steam deck with mousepad and L1 and L2’ and that controller and official Deck support are being looked into without promises; patch 0.5.11 of 29 September 2026 mentions work on controller support for the full version.
- Where are the save files?
- Guildrun uses Steam Cloud. According to SteamDB, on Windows the saves live in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Leyline\Guildrun\Saves\steam-<your SteamID64>\, and on macOS the same Leyline/Guildrun/Saves folder sits under Application Support. You can save mid-run and come back later (Steam page).
- How do the leaderboards work, and when do they reset?
- The demo has global leaderboards for Endless and Red Rift, plus the Merged and SSS boards named in the first demo patch. Since patch 0.5.14 of 20 October 2026 they ‘reset automatically on Tuesdays, 7pm CEST’; before that they reset with each weekly patch. The calendar always shows the next Tuesday.Calendar →Glossary →
- Will my demo progress carry over to the full game?
- That is the plan: the official FAQ says every Steam account should keep the progress made in the demo (metaprogression, difficulty unlocks and hero mastery stars). It is a stated plan, not a guarantee.
- Is the demo still being updated?
- Not regularly anymore. Patch 0.5.14 of 20 October 2026 is ‘the last regular patch for the Guildrun demo’: from now on the team works on the full game, and the demo stays playable. Between 23 July and 20 October 2026 the demo received a patch every week.Changes →News →
